Pregnancy in China 1970'sONE CHILD LAW

The one -child law began in China in the 1970's. This law was originally made to stop the over population of China during their hard economic times. In Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, the Little Seamstress becomes Mao's friend Luo. During the Re-Education of China a girl was not allowed to be married until they were at least 25 years of age. This was to try and elimnate the number of children a person could have.

TWIN POLICY

If a person had twins in China then one of them would have to die. If the law were to find out that you indeed do have twins you would be charged a fine that you wouldn't be able to pay and the youngest of your twins would either be killed or be taken away from you.If you did want to keep both of your childs without the government finding out abut it you would have to bid the doctor that delivered your baby to write you a second birth certificate saying that one of the children are years older then the other.
